METHANE RECOVERYIn 1981 there was a downturn in the housing market around the Greenville SC area. Charles Kellett, Jr. began looking for ways to diversify the business. The landfill bucket was built to drill landfill wastes faster than the augers that were being used at the time. Since the first bucket, there have been changes made to make drilling faster and the tools more reliable and field friendly. Kellett's grew into a nation-wide company. Since 1982, Kellett's has been involved in the Closing of Fresh Kills(Related articles: 1, 2) and is currently involved in the Miracle at the Meadowlands.(See news from NJ relating to this site.)Both of these sites are currently turning methane into usable energy. A major project in Greenville was completed at the end of 2006 with the purpose of electric generation. The contacts we have made over the years are invaluable. Thank You to everyone involved! |
